LA ISLA DE LOS CHICOS
Isla Kaiola Blue
Delta de Tigre, Buenos Aires
La Isla de los Chicos (The Island of the Kids) is a project created and written by Beatrice Lupi, Francesco Paganini, and Gonzalo Borgognoni.
It was realized and performed by:
• Beatrice Lupi - piano and movement
• Francesco Paganini - piano
• Milagros Cepeda - violin
This project is a combination of a laboratory and a musical performance designed for children living on the islands of the Tigre Delta in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The Tigre Delta is typically a tourist and vacation destination for people from the capital city. The project was commissioned by Michail Znaniecki and John Paul Laka for the Opera Tigre Festival in 2016.
The performance revolves around the theme of water and actively involves the audience and children who participated in the workshops. It includes storytelling, movement, and live music to engage the spectators actively.
The performance was subsequently replicated in different contexts, adapting its characteristics to suit each specific setting:
Centro Cultural MIZAR, Mar del Plata, Argentina
Choir room of the Gran Mariscal Theater, Sucre, Bolivia
Sobrio Festival, Sobrio, Switzerland
(without workshops and interactive parts)
During these replicas, additional performers joined the project, including Adele Posani on the flute and Gonzalo Borgognoni on the clarinet.
